
The IGHL Foundation is proud to honor Michael Caruso, Vice President of Country Group, an organization that operates numerous automobile franchises across Long Island, at this year's IGHL Golf Outing to be held at Cold Spring Harbor Country Club on August 11, 2008.
Michael Caruso serves on the Board of Directors of the Southampton Business Alliance, is a founding member of the Southampton Affordable Housing Coalition and is a sitting commissioner on the Southampton Traffic Commission. He has served on the board for Long Island Cares and has worked with the Huntington Breast Cancer Foundation and Southampton Hospital.
Born and raised on Long Island, he is a graduate of the La Salle Military Academy and went on to earn his BBA in Marketing at Iona College. After grduation, Michael played on the semi-pro tennis circuit on the East End of Long Island. He is also an avid polo player. Today, his main sport is golf. He is a member of both the Crescent Club in Huntington and the Southampton Golf Club.
He and his wife Maria have been married for seven years. His son Christopher is a graduate of Northwood Institute and is a manager at one of the Lincoln-Mercury franchises operated by Country Group. His son Chase is a senior at Salisbury University in Maryland and is an All-American lacrosse player on their varsity team. He also has two stepson, Jordan Hart, a professional hockey player with the New York Islander organization, and Robert Morley, a computer specialist in the medical field.
